Community & Public Projects
All of us at NMA feel a strong connection to our communities, and that connection inevitably creates a desire to give back. Sometimes we do just that – donate our time for special projects that we feel are important in the community. We just love to find other community-minded folks who are doing good. Other times, we get opportunities to take on impactful projects that can help strengthen a community by their presence.
Carp Arts
Our friends at the Carpinteria Arts have founded a wonderful nonprofit grassroots volunteer organization whose mission is to create a vibrant community through the arts. We’re very happy to have had the opportunity to donate our time to help them successfully create their home, an Arts Center building in downtown Carpinteria… and to further our ongoing support of local arts and art education.
QAD
We helped our friends at QAD create the ultimate working environment for their employees: a corporate campus on an amazing coastal blufftop site overlooking the Pacific Ocean. We worked closely with their team to create a building design that is sensitive to the natural environment and the neighboring Summerland community. QAD pride themselves on customer engagement and commitment to service, the very same business culture we foster here at NMA.
Boys & Girls Club
We have donated our time to help this important organization completely renovate the commercial kitchens in their West side and downtown Santa Barbara facilities. Not only do these kitchens feed healthy, balanced meals to all their members free of charge, but they’re places to teach healthy habits and important life skills, and to develop positive relationships.
Santa Barbara Zoo
The Santa Barbara Zoo is a beloved local community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, conservation, and enhancement of the natural world and its living treasures through education, research, and recreation. We were thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with zoo staff to create their Discovery Pavilion education center. The Discovery Pavilion serves as the hub of the Zoo’s many education and community outreach programs.
Girls Inc.
The mission of Girls Inc. is to inspire girls to be strong, smart, and bold, and to empower them to achieve personal, social, political, and economic success. We've been proud to support this pro-girl environment over the years in addressing their campus needs.
Momentum WORK, Inc
Momentum WORK, Inc. is a local non-profit dedicated to empowering people with disabilities by providing access to innovative services that support personal and professional growth while connecting them to their community - truly transforming lives. NMA has been delighted to partner with Momentum WORK’s personalized individual employment services, integrating one of their clients into our team as an in-office intern gaining on-the-job training as a means of realizing his dream of college enrollment in the field of architecture.
