Susan and Connell came to us with their desire to completely transform their getaway into a modern beachfront home… and a tranquil place for retreat. We created sculptural building forms that are elevated above the site, much like a piece of art raised on a pedestal. Building materials are selected for their natural beauty and sustainability in the harsh coastal environment. Integrally colored plaster, Corten steel, exposed concrete, stainless steel, opaque and clear glass, and natural stone comprise an understated palette of materials with a quiet beauty and tranquility.

This house is an expression of how I want to feel… The ocean, those dolphins, those birds – I don't know how to say it without sounding corny, but it's like church. It's a place where you are connected to the divine.
